High Speed Photography
In one of our lessons we done some High Speed Photography in the studio, using a Plum, a bowl of water, lights, tripods, and a camera. We had to work in groups of 3 for this project to work, this was because we needed one person dropping the fruit into the water from a certain point, someone taking the photograph and someone resetting the trigger. I feel like this was a successful project and worked really well. We had the camera on a very quick shutter speed making sure it would capture the picture as soon as the plum hits the water, to give the photograph that splash effect.
Here are some of the images I managed to capture.
When taking the High speed Photographs we all needed to be in time doing what we was meant to be doing, for example I was in control of the camera so once I had pressed the camera button I would tell the other person in my group to drop the plum, if I didn't give them this message then there is a possibility that the camera will either take the photograph to early or to late.
As you can see by this picture below, this was an attempt that didn't go to plan, the photograph was taken to early leading to the plum not having time to hit the water and give the splash effect.
